An overview of my current self: I've been self employed for a few years doing alright ranging from $30,000-60,000 a year (it is declining some each year). The goal of this was to try to build passive income and I have mostly achieved it to where I can spend a few hours a week on my own time and still make within that range. I got a job last year that pays around $80,000 a year so in total between the two I sit around $100,000 depending on how many hours I work at the new job. I am a remote contractor at this job and company is in Europe so I have no benefits or 401k matching of any kind and I'm confident I will have employment for at least 2 more years. I am lucky as I currently live with my parents still so no mortgage, vehicle is paid off and reliable, and no debt of any kind so I've been able to build my savings account up fairly quick over the past year to $47,000. This is all in a HYSA at 3.5%. I recently setup a Roth IRA a few months ago with fidelity and maxed that out for the year with FXAIX as well.
