[ELI5] How can an encrypted and decrypted file be identical but not compressed and decompressed ones? So when you compress and decompress a file, let's say a large video, sure you get the same video after decompressing, but IIRC the file will not be 100% the same on the byte level. But if you encrypt and decrypt it, it will be the exact same, how come? EDIT: And if I'm wrong about compressing, then same question, how come the file is the same in both cases if it undergoes two changes. EDIT2: Thanks for all the replies!
