Across eight years, Bitcoin Staking paid every obligation in our core simulation. But under a severe STX price shock, the bear-case reserve fell from 30.6 BTC to 5.9 BTC. Full report:

· 2026-07-10T15:46:06+00:00Bitcoin Staking is really huge for Stacks because institutions are looking for ways to generate on chain native Bitcoin yield safely. And Bitcoin Staking on Stacks is the safe way they are deploying BTC in [Spoken audio]: Bitcoin staking is obviously a huge thing for Stacks. Stacks has been around for a number of years. We've got a great community. But one of the things we've always thought about how to do is how do you really activate so much more of the Bitcoin capital, right? I'm sure as you get, you know, one percent of Bitcoin is really kind of deployed in effective and yield earning ways way under what most networks are because there's never really been a good way for like Bitcoin holders to both maintain custody of their Bitcoin but earn yield on it. And of course we've seen really bad things happen when people kind of go to these fully custodial fully centralized solutions on it. So I think there's really kind of always been this holy grail thing of how do you earn bitcoin without risking your bitcoin on it. So this you know the introduction of kind of self custodial bitcoin and we think it's a huge thing for the Stacks Network. I'm really curious kind of what's the thesis that like drives where you guys as a firm allocate your capital and kind of how did that link to why it became interesting for you guys to look and become a part of Bitcoin staking. Yeah, I mean, we take a very holistic approach to investing across the Bitcoin space. And there's other firms, great firms out there that invest across digital assets, but our focus is a mild deep into Bitcoin. And we view Bitcoin as the Apex crypto asset, digital capital, store value, monetary network, neutral monetary network, that we think has many, many multiples to grow from here. And so what that means from an investment standpoint is there's different ways that Bitcoin's going to grow. One is from the corporate adoption, which you saw really play out over the last several years, looking at strategy and how they've grown their Bitcoin business and other groups, including Nakamoto. But then also a subset of that is how can groups look about deploying that Bitcoin and making it productive. And you could argue some of the productivity is keeping it as a store value asset. and it's preserving your purchasing power and your time and your energy and that's very much in our mind a utility and a use case. But there's also other ways to put that Bitcoin to work and one of them is monetizing the volatility of Bitcoin, which is kind of what you've seen historically from folks that are looking to generate Bitcoin yield. But then to this point, it's what can you do on chain or what can you do with other protocols to earn native bitcoin yield in a safe way, right? And to your point about self-pistodial, I mean that's the ethos of bitcoin is holding your own keys, holding your own bitcoin. And to have a solution where you can generate some incremental yield while holding your own keys, having to control your bitcoin, you know, that's a game changer. So yeah, this space is going to continue to grow out in kind of all those facets that I outlined, including what Stax is doing with this new staking protocol.
