Here's a guide on how to make it easy for users to interpret transactions against your smart contract: docs.monad.xyz/guides/clear-s โ€ฆ h/t @port_dev , moving fast [Spoken audio]: Blind signing is the red flag for the master program. The main purpose of clear signing is to get us to adopt a new mindset as users of Ethereum. Before clear signing, you would see a JSON blob. That doesn't mean anything to you. It's rather scary. What you see on your device should be what you sign in, should be human readable. So users really see what they are signing. In short, I would say it's Ethereum transactions for humans and not for machines. I think having clear signing is the biggest improvement that we can have on Ethereum UX. Clear signing or the ERC7730 is a function metadata description. 7730 matters for end users because users want clear understandings of how they're interacting with the blockchain. Basically the first step in the clear signing initiative. ERCs usually don't require hard forks, so the way this gets implemented is it gets adopted. This was the number one thing that people were actually saying, one of the biggest problems in this ecosystem. People got used to approving things they don't understand, even though they know that there could be very bad consequences. That is a huge problem and both for user experience and for security reasons. Blind signing is when you approve a transaction on Ethereum and you basically have no idea what's going to happen. It makes Ethereum one of the very first ecosystem that is tackling blind signing at scale. There's a lot of things that we as an ecosystem need to solve. There are a history of hacks where people were led to sign stuff they didn't want to sign. The most well-known consequence of blind signing is going to be the buy-bet hack. They ended up losing over 1.4 billion dollars. You do not feel safe when you do this. You know you're not safe. The problem is solved. Now the standard is out there and it just needs to get adopted. But it does not require any forks or updates to the Ethereum protocol. It's totally up to the ecosystem to make sure that users can clear sign transactions. But it's important to remember as well that it's part of a multi-layer security strategy. So it's not going to solve everything, but it's going to make Ethereum a much more robust ecosystem to interact with.
