Merlin announces that @Morpho has crossed $5B in deposits on Base "We just crossed $5 billion total deposits on Base, which is insane, and almost bigger than the main instance on Ethereum"

➥ I’ve been comparing lending protocols by how much borrowing they produce per dollar of TVL as of Aug 8: → @0xfluid Lending: $763M active loans / $668M TVL = 1.14x → @Morpho : $4.34B / $7.96B = 0.55x → @sparkfinance : $1.80B / $4.68B = 0.38x Fluid’s borrowed-to-TVL ratio is

The chart visually supports the post's claim of Fluid's strong 1.14x borrowed-to-TVL ratio, showing that active loans consistently exceed or match TVL throughout the period.

➥ If you’ve ever used @aave or @Morpho , you already understand the basic idea of depositing assets to earn yield or borrowing against collateral. Mentat Lend is aiming to be that for Bittensor @opentensor - the first native lending market built specifically for subnet tokens.

This infographic promotes "Mentat Lend," the first native lending market for Bittensor subnet tokens, highlighting that users can deposit TAO to "earn above root staking" or borrow TAO by posting staked Alpha as collateral (which "stays staked, keeps earning emissions"). Key features called out include live markets for SCORE (SN44), isolated risk pools, on-chain pricing via Bittensor's AMM, and a Burra Security audit, positioning it as "the missing piece" for subnet token liquidity.

Two weeks ago, @Morpho shipped the fixed-rate product that previous generations of onchain lending could never make work: Morpho Midnight. Fixed-rate lending onchain already failed once. The 2020–2022 wave (Yield, Element and others) never found real product-market fit.

An infographic titled "Morpho Midnight Fixed-Rate Lending" promoting the new Morpho product as "The Next Evolution of Onchain Credit," highlighting features like one capital with multiple maturities, zero-coupon positions, and institutional demand, while noting institutional rails from Coinbase, Kraken, Bitwise, and SG-FORGE helped build it. The image supports the post's claim that Morpho has solved fixed-rate onchain lending where prior 2020–2022 attempts (Yield, Element) failed, with an anime-style character overlooking glowing Morpho Midnight branding and a "What to Watch: Active Loan Growth" callout.

$MORPHO is putting up some serious numbers this year > $4.3B active loans > $8B TVL (nearly all-time high) > 2x token performance > $125M fees generated in 2026 becoming one of the strongest DeFi players in 2026

The DeFi story in 2026 is getting a lot more interesting than just the next perp DEX pump. The real shift might be happening quietly: fixed income, institutional credit, and machine-native finance moving onchain. Morpho’s Midnight on Base is a good example. Fixed-rate,

Morpho's Base deposits pulling level with its Ethereum home instance is the part I keep rereading.
