The next generations aren't skipping gold, they're reaching it a different way. On-chain. Same asset the older end of the table holds. Fewer steps to get there.

A Goldfish infographic titled "Generation by Share" displays a pie chart divided into four generational segments: Gen Z (18-29) at 18%, ages 30-49 at 22%, ages 50-64 at 27%, and Boomers (65+) at 31%, with people pictured interacting with various devices like smartphones and laptops around the chart. The visualization illustrates how gold ownership spans all age groups, supporting the post's message that younger generations are accessing gold through on-chain methods rather than skipping the asset entirely.

THE SAME PLAN Expansion is coming.. The structure we see in $ETH isn’t new, we’ve seen it countless times from $GOLD to $JPM to $CAT .. what happens post accumulation? Patience will pay.

There's a magic trick hiding inside DeFi right now: put physical gold in a vault, and what comes back out is a liquid, tradable token you can swap or borrow against in seconds, without ever selling the gold itself. That single mechanic is quietly turning gold into a [Spoken audio]: today. The gold does fairly well. So like PaxG, XAUT, the big ones, maybe we're like, yeah, there's something I'm not quite sure as far as gold tokens go there. They're good handful of gold tokens. They interestingly sort of like PaxG at first had transfer fees. So as if you moved it, you'd slowly erode value, you know, then they got rid of those. And it and it started to work better in DeFi for that reason. Trying to do a swap on something with a transfer fee, like uniswapper wherever you're swapping, we will usually tell you like, hey, you're about to lose some of your principle. They don't trade as much. And then it's hard to make like the lending markets around them and so on. And so I think they've started to reverse that a little bit, although folks remember and are annoyed by the fact that there were transfer fees on all that stuff. So anyway, so gold is actually starting to do a decent job as a DeFi asset, kind of beyond tokenized treasuries. Like there are, typically treasuries are very liquid and transferable and you know, there was a time where hedge funds used to like have some treasuries and then borrow against them and like loop to like 20X leverage to try to crank the yields to infinity and so on, they may be still do that. I'm not sure. And you would think you would be able to do something like that in crypto. It's like the crypto people love looping and you kind of can't, right? So and the stocks, I believe are closer. The feeling is more crypto native to where they're starting to be some deep light infrastructure where you can borrow against them, you can definitely swap for them, you know, where the secondary markets, I'd kind of work. So I guess that in contrast, I would say, I would expect more market cap out of gold, but it's coming on. I would expect treasuries to feel more like crypto, and they largely don't just yet. And where they do feel like crypto, they're indirectly expressed like maybe they're supporting the yield for some really crypto token, but that they themselves are not all that tradable on chain. And the stocks are also they have the weirdness about them too. Like sometimes they're super illiquid out of market hours Like you won't even be votes back from aggregators or they'll be huge spreads and so on But they're kind of starting to feel like crypto too. So Nuance story and in this sense I would I don't actually feel That gold is behind per se silver is smaller than I thought it would be although silver perps are actually pretty popular. So like I was like talking to the AI the other day, I think there's like 4x the silver perp volume on hyper liquid that there is gold. I think it's because we're really, that's what people want to get. Interesting, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So yeah, the whole thing is nuanced for sure. Spot silver is smaller than I thought it would be. I think that will grow a bit, quite a bit and then we'll be a bunch of it. But yeah, as this infrastructure gets into the place though, you'll just see more in-kind deposits. You know, the magic of going from putting gold in the vault to getting liquid, tradable tokens back and you don't have to physically move the gold and you can swap them for cash or borrow cash, et cetera. That's the big driver and it's happening.
