Β· 2026-07-03T06:29:38+00:00Do you know what ENS needs right now? A little unity and a message of support and thanks to those who created it ( @nicksdjohnson ). So I'm launching this hashtag #ThankYouNick or, if you prefer, #InNickWeTrust. Send positive vibes. Let's make X and ENS a better place!
Β· 2026-07-03T06:09:22+00:00ENS has recently encountered some turbulence, and I believe these issues will soon be resolved. In the meantime, after just reading the latest blog post released by ENS Labs, I remain full of optimistic expectations for the future of the ENS protocol.
Β· 2026-07-03T22:40:39+00:00SPP3 committee published its cohort recommendation. Five providers are recommended to receive $2.89M of the roughly $3.25M approved budget, with the remaining ~$360K left unallocated in the DAO treasury pending final approval and next-step discussion.

Β· 2026-07-03T21:00:26+00:00-Cami: Do you regret being part of the decision that canceled Brantley? -James Waugh: Yes @blockchainjames reflects on the original token spreadsheet, Nickβs voting power, and whether ENS governance would look very different today if Brantley had been able to keep more of his [Spoken audio]: I built that spreadsheet right the spreadsheet of how many tokens Nick has I created you know we sat in a room and we said how many tokens should we all get well you know maybe if we do 25% to labs you know then we look at everyone's contributions you know sort of or 25% to contributors and we look at everyone's contributions how do they end up mapping out right and Brantley got just you know I think 1% or maybe 1.5% less than Nick so Nick got I think 5.8 you know and then Brantley got 4.3 or whatever that maybe I'm slightly off with that but it was like close And Brantley was really a counterforce to Nick. And then fast forward to Brantley being canceled for like having religious views as one thing, getting on a quarter space and blasting off with people was another. And so like, well that was going on, I was really involved in that as well, right? I was sort of handling the inbound from delegates and handing them down from labs and then sort of what do we do as a next step in war rooming around Brantley? And then the decision was made, sort of not by me by Nick and the leadership team that Brantley should be removed but I certainly played a role on that. And then he got his tokens taxed by 70%, right, or 60%. He lost 60 or 70% of his allocation because he hasn't invested them from the DNS labs. And, you know, now looking back, could we have designed that spreadsheet better of who gets what at the beginning? I think actually everyone got half as many tokens, right? If all of the contributors got half as many and we did 12% to the contributors and I got half as many, you know, would that have led to a better doubt? Quite possibly. If Brantley's tokens weren't deleted and he was able to be a counterbalance to next voting power, that quite possibly could be as well. And so from the token lens, I certainly, you know, take some level of responsibility for sort of setting this situation up on that. Do you, do you regret having cancelled at Brantley? I mean, not you specifically, but, you know, having been part of that decision. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, you know, like, was he going off too hard? A hundred percent, you know, like he was definitely sort of going in a little bit too much for my cup of tea. I was just talking to him earlier today, but I think that certainly now looking with the position E&S is in and the impact this is having on Ethereum as a whole and of smart contracts and sort of the framing of DAOs that's sort of taking a stray here. I totally regret that decision and I wish that Brighton Lee could have had more tokens.
