I miss 2021, when I was still in my junior year, and the company where I interned had two post-00s college students who achieved financial freedom through ENS airdrops and bought themselves Porsche 911s. Later on, I too earned the tuition for my grad school in the US through

I've been at ENS for 9 years now. The first 4 years it was basically just me, Nick, Makoto and a few people that have come and left since then. We were always less than 10 people. Nick has been building ENS for a decade. 10 fucking years. blog.ethereum.org/2016/07/11/tay … This is a blog

Downright hilarious everyone is just now realizing Nick is a woke r****d and ENS was doomed the second the woke Ethereum mob pushed @BrantlyMillegan out A lot of us Ethereum folks were calling this out years ago Token governance is disaster

Your ENS has been sitting idle in your wallet. Starting today it can do two things at once: > make ENS governance stronger > and earn you rewards from the ENS DAO The ENS Delegation Incentives Program is live.

bthd @bv99z · 2026-07-01T09:56:07+00:00

The crisis in ENS shows that the governance token and DAO model in crypto isn't working in its current form. Governance systems that lack a reward mechanism and rely entirely on volunteerism aren't functioning. I've been holding $UNI since the Uniswap airdrop (~6 years ago) and

Lefteris Karapetsas @LefterisJP · 2026-07-01T21:19:33+00:00

I don't have much hope for ENS the way things are going with Labs but if there is anything you can do with your ENS to help balance the situation is to delegate it. Preferably to a non Labs affiliated delegate. And now there is an incentive program to reward delegations.

ENS needs saving. It was always and is a flagship project of the Ethereum ecosystem. @nicksdjohnson , please allow me to bring in a more radical suggestion. It may be worth considering. I do this as an outsider regarding ENS governance, as I never had any formal roles with ENS,

ENS has always seemed like a decent project to me. I’m pretty disappointed that, as a Ethereum “aligned” project it is centralizing. But humans are humans. And when money comes into the picture, centralization happens I’m more disappointed in EF and Ethereum leadership in

Laura Shin @laurashin · 2026-07-01T20:43:09+00:00

Why does ENS need its own token instead of just voting with ETH? Because someone rich enough could buy the ETH and grief the protocol. Kain: "You're talking about Tom Lee?" Nick Johnson: "No, it's Vitalik, to be honest."

Laura Shin @laurashin · 2026-07-01T20:22:56+00:00

No, Nick Johnson doesn't control half of ENS. His vote came out to ~50% of the active supply because barely anyone delegates: about 7M of 100M tokens actually vote. @nicksdjohnson says "there's strong financial incentive to sell something, especially if you got it for free, and

Nick Johnson on the ENS treasury bind: "We can't have both: an endowment that's 100% on-chain with a conservative mandate, and one that will actually sustain ENS indefinitely. If we have to choose, I'll choose the one that lets ENS keep operating."

Laura Shin @laurashin · 2026-07-01T20:51:54+00:00

Tay's read on the ENS pile-on: "If ENS fails or gets hacked, that falls on Nick — not the DAO. The DAO is supposed to be accountable, but if something fails it isn't, at all. That's why I have a hard time getting invested in hating Nick."
