See whatβs next for scalable blockchain architecture at Web3 Summit, June 18β19. [Spoken audio]: This is the best we could do so far after a few after a week or two of trying It's likely that this this multiplier is going to go down It's probably not going to go down that much more in general though Maybe I don't know to pick a number out the air 3x is a good target for polka dot and for jam We use a protocol called elves which gives us Security basically allows us to be sure that some particular piece of computation was done correctly This is the same thing, in essence, that the ZK mechanisms are doing, right? ZK provides a specific proof, elves, more like a crypto-economic game, and the proof is in some sense the sort of signatures of the participants of the game, along with a bunch of assumptions that, for example, the participants are no more than a third of the participants are malicious. Now, in order to run ELVs, you basically have to re-execute work, and the participants randomly select themselves as to whether they're going to re-execute or not. But basically, work is re-executed about 33 times. So basically, the cost is 33 times what it would be to run regularly under this secure metering model, which means we can work out exactly how much more expensive for baseline hardware costs, ZK is over elves, and it turns out it's about 4000, right? So it's basically 4000 times more costly to prove things correct using ZK as opposed to sort of prove things to correct using our crypto-economic system elves. If you want, this is kind of like comparing roll-up mechanisms. 4000 times is quite a lot more costly. It's gonna have to come down quite a lot in cost before, you know, it makes sense, right?
