Some deposit and transfers here and there to make payments where Wealthsimple works best and doesn’t cause me issues on some website. I had deposited a cheque from my old job to which the amount is substantial compared to my usual amount but I was ready for the hold and I did not mind. Today the funds got released but then my account got restricted. What Wealthsimple doesn’t know is that money was going to be used for my wedding and now I am stuck not being able to use it while I had everything relying on this. Now I am wondering why place a hold if you would then ask me information about the reason the cheque? Why not contact me through the app or even email? I’ve received so many emails or pushed notifications about stuffs I do not use or read but when it’s my money they are silent. Now i need to contact a fraud team and wait on them to decide if I am worthy of my money. I trusted them even though I am with another financial institution. The deposit was even for the points they create for the monthly millionaire as well( I know I will never win it) but now this left me with a sour impression of them and even more stress for my wedding. I know I could have made it from one of the big 5 but I’ve had such a long relationship with Wealthsimple that I thought of it right away. I guess this feeling will change…
