Why to the AI oligarchs keep telling americans to not study (even STEM) and instead become plumbers, electricians and HVAC techs? Why do the AI oligarchs keep telling americans to not study (even STEM) and become plumbers and HVAC techs? Peter Thiel has a scholarship for kids that choose not to go to college or to drop out. His CEO Alex Karp is relentlessly in the media for years telling people not to go to college, even for STEM and all become laborors and tradesmen. Nvidia's CEO says it. Elon says it. CEO of apple, Bill gates. It's pushed heavily in the media for a couple years now. Yes on the flip side they keep saying robotics and AI will replace physical labor jobs. I can understand not getting a $400,000 philosophy or humanities degree in this day and age because the earning potential is low for the invenstment into that education (if you even get a job where the degree matter, which most dont), but how does not training scientists and engineers make sesnse to these people? Especially when scientists and engineers are the people making the tech industry advance. Also pharma and agro/petrochemicals are reliant on it. I only hear the tech industry pushing this narritive though.

Due to such frivolous functions in the college university, parents are not allowing their daughters to move forward—this is the very reason that our education system has sunk.

A family will struggle to pay university fees for their daughter but start saving aggressively when it is time for her wedding. Wetin be this mentality? A wedding can last one day, but the education and skills she acquires can open doors throughout her life.
