Most NFTs store a link to the image. I built a wall that stores every pixel on-chain instead. Something that's always bugged me about a lot of NFTs: the token is on-chain, but the image usually isn't. The token holds a link, and the picture lives on IPFS or someone's server. If nobody keeps it pinned, or the server goes away, you still own the token, but it points at nothing. Even worse, a malicious admin can replace the picture with whatever they want, including NSFW content you didn't buy into. That's why I built tagwall, a 1,000,000 pixel wall (1250 x 800) where the picture itself is the on-chain data. When you paint, every pixel's color is written into the contract's storage. There's no image file, no IPFS and no server holding the art. I've open-sourced it all. Any copy of the front-end, including one you can run yourself, rebuilds the wall straight from the chain.
