USDT on Tron but 0 TRX? Why it won't send, and three ways out This comes up here every week, so here's the short version. USDT on Tron is a TRC-20 token. Every transfer needs energy, and if your address has none, the network burns TRX from the same address to pay for it. No TRX, nothing to burn, and the transfer is refused. Sending a smaller amount of USDT doesn't help; the fee is in TRX. How much: about 6–7 TRX for a transfer to an address that already holds USDT, roughly twice that to one that never has. 20 TRX leaves a margin for one transfer. Your wallet shows the exact fee before you confirm. Three ways out:
