The writing is on the wall a recession is coming. Will ICP be safe? I think there's a good chance ICP would benefit from a recession especially it's revenue because it's tied to XDR. If the big recession happens it is likely that hyper inflation will follow in the US. The world economy is tied to the dollar so prices in the whole world will rise. The XDR will likely appreciate against the dollar, whereas the dollar is the most commonly used fiat currency for exchanging ICP. Most big tech cloud providers are American companies they will calculate inflation price to the consumer. Meanwhile the price of xdr for buying cycles remains the same (1 xdr for 1 trillion cycles). It's likely inflation will hit the hardest in the US because of national debt.In the short term, the price of US services will see the sharpest increase, while XDR remains stable. Because ICP is also tied to the dollar in exchange for fiat the price off XDR will in increase towards ICP. For icp/cycle burning this makes a huge difference.
