TIL humans evolved staggered sleep schedules so someone was always awake to guard the camp. Known as the "Sentinel Hypothesis," this explains why teens are natural night owls while seniors wake up early—creating an automatic, age-based night watch.

Fascinating: This is not a camera glitch. The immense gravity of the MACS J0553.4-3342 galaxy cluster acts as a giant magnifying glass, warping and duplicating the light of hidden galaxies from the early universe. (Credit: ESA/Webb, NASA & CSA, S. Fujimoto)

A deep-field image showcasing countless galaxies, with bright stars displaying prominent diffraction spikes, including a striking spiral galaxy on the left. The scene captures the gravitational lensing effect of the MACS J0553.4-3342 galaxy cluster, which bends and distorts the light from more distant background galaxies, revealing faint, arc-like streaks scattered throughout the field.

Electricity passed oil as the world’s largest source of useful energy in 2007. Today, it powers 34% of global useful energy. More generation is the foundation of energy abundance.

An infographic titled 'ELECTRICITY NOW DOMINATES ENERGY' shows a line chart from 1900 to 2022, with electricity at 34% of total energy demand, surpassing oil (26%) and gas (22%), sourced from ITASA, IEA, and Ember Analysis.
