What should I transition into? 5 YOE fullstack + 1 YOE data analysis Apologies if this sounds complain-y, but I'm going to try to get as close as possible to detailing what I'm looking for while limiting the amount that turns into ranting. I want to build things myself, not tell agents to build things and then pick them apart for things to fix. I've done coding with and without AI and AI can produce solid stuff if you can decide on the system you want to design, prompt carefully, use plan mode effectively, and do it bit by bit so you only have to review bite-sized stuff at a time (my experience with it in non-professional environments, I'm open to being told I could be working with it more effectively!), but this is just not what I want to do. Unfortunately, I can't not acknowledge that AI will easily build more effectively than junior-mid engineers for products that want to ship features and bug fixes so I think the best I can do for what I want is to use the knowledge I have to help me in another field while continuing to learn whatever I can.
