How do you tell the difference between a crypto asset being cheap and simply being down? A price that is 50% lower than its previous high may seem like a good deal. However, a lower price alone does not indicate whether the investment is actually better value. I find it more useful to ask what changed while the price was falling. Did usage or revenue deteriorate? Did the supply of tokens or incentives change? Did the competitive position weaken? Has the original reason for buying changed? Or did the market price change mostly? If the original thesis remains intact, a lower price could improve the risk/reward ratio. However, if the thesis has changed, 'it used to be much higher' is probably not a valid valuation argument.
