CLARITY does not advance and the Fed raises rates: why do the markets react positively? The recent sequence of events has generated an intense debate between investors and market participants. On the one hand, the Senate failed to advance the processing of the CLARITY Act after a procedural vote that ended 49-50, while, just one day later, the Federal Reserve announced an increase of 25 basis points, placing interest rates in the range of 3.75%-4.00%. A priori, both factors could be interpreted as negative for risk assets. However, the reaction of the markets has been very different from what was expected. The main US stock indices recorded advances, Bitcoin managed to recover after the initial falls and several assets showed positive behaviour simultaneously.
