Tested 5 ways to manage the same short trade on a perp. Drawdown went from 21% to 5%, entry never changed Most of the time people argue about entries. Which indicator, which timeframe, which confirmation. What happens after the entry gets one line - stop below, target above, done. Or no rule at all and you close when it feels right. I think what you do with the open position matters at least as much, so I tested it. I took one entry I already had and ran it 5 times, changing only the rules for the open position. Same stop, same $50 risk per trade on a $2k account (1R = $50), same fees, funding and slippage, one position at a time. Short only, crypto perp, Feb 2023 to Sep 2026.
