Why do i still suck at Trading? I just want to be profitable, man. It's been a year and a few months now of holding onto this belief that one day, just ONE day, I'll finally become profitable, just like all these full-time traders I see everywhere. And honestly... I'm tired. Everyone has a different strategy. "No bro, try ICT." "No, Supply & Demand is the way." "Forget that. Pure price action." "You need liquidity." "You need order blocks." "You need to wake up at 4:37 AM, stare at the New York session for 17 minutes and sacrifice a goat." Okay, maybe nobody said the last one. Yet. Eventually I realized something: most strategies can probably work. The real question is whether you can execute one consistently enough for it to actually work for you. So I stopped strategy-hopping and stuck with one approach: HTF bias → MTF POIs → LTF entry. Supply and Demand, basically. And sometimes I win. But most of the time... I blow the account. And that's probably the part that messes with me the most. Because I'm not just randomly clicking Buy and Sell anymore. I've spent the last year trying to understand the market, following rules, journaling trades, treating trading as a process instead of expecting every trade to win, working on discipline, studying liquidity, studying sessions, studying news... And somehow the market still looks at me like: "Ohhh, you think you understand now? That's adorable." The worst part is that whenever I go on Reddit, YouTube or talk to people around me who trade, it feels like I'm the only person struggling this badly. Everyone seems to have figured something out that I haven't. You'll see someone talking about how they've been profitable for two years, someone else showing their payouts, another person talking about the "struggles of being a full-time trader." Then I saw a post recently where someone was talking about how one of the problems with being a full-time trader is loneliness. And I was like: BRO WHAT DO YOU MEAN? Those are the soft-life problems I'm trying to have. You mean to tell me I'm supposed to wake up in my mansion, look around, realize nobody is there, and feel lonely? SIGN ME UP. I'll be lonely in 4K. Obviously I'm exaggerating. But you get what I mean. I genuinely don't even care about having a private jet or a mansion next to Elon Musk. I just want to make enough money to have a decent house, a car, eat properly, help my family, have some freedom, and not constantly worry about money. Is that really too much to ask from the financial markets? Apparently yes. I've also thought about getting a mentor, but most mentors obviously want to get paid. Fair enough. And trading communities can be difficult too. Sometimes it genuinely feels like we're all speaking different languages. One guy is talking about an order block. Another guy is talking about institutional liquidity. Another guy is drawing 47 rectangles on the chart. And I'm just sitting there like: "Guys... the candle went down. What are we doing?" I don't know. Maybe I'm just going through a really long losing phase. Maybe my strategy genuinely has a problem. Maybe my execution sucks more than I realize. Maybe I haven't collected enough data to know whether my edge actually exists. Or maybe trading is just brutally difficult and everyone online makes it look much easier than it actually is. Because honestly, I really want this. I've wanted to become a full-time trader for over a year now, and sometimes I wonder whether I'm chasing something that's actually realistic for me or whether I'm just refusing to let go of a dream. I'm not asking Reddit to tell me what strategy to use. I've heard enough of those. I guess I just want to hear from people who have actually been through this. Did anyone else spend a year+ feeling like they were getting nowhere? Did you eventually figure out what was actually holding you back? Or did you realize trading wasn't for you?
