A year ago I asked here who really deserves the "3rd gen" label. Quick update on one of them About a year ago I posted here asking which chains actually earn the "3rd gen" label. One of the ones I brought up was SASEUL, and someone in the comments said it was already defunct. It isn't, and I've kept an eye on it since, so here's a quick update. The thing that still sets it apart for me is how consensus is split up. There's a separate PoW chain whose only job is picking who gets to be a validator. The 9 validators it picks then sign blocks on the main chain, and blocks are final in about 4-6 seconds. So mining and block production happen on two different chains.
