Electricity at my premises is a negligible/near-zero cost, so I’d like to understand which mining hardware makes sense under those circumstances. My target would ideally be up to US$40 a day after electricity, pool fees and routine running costs, but before tax and recovering the hardware purchase price. I previously considered something drawing approximately , although that isn’t a confirmed maximum for the premises. I would need to check the electrical requirements and arrangements for heat and noise before committing. I’m open to different coins and algorithms rather than being set on Bitcoin. I’d also consider second-hand hardware, provided it makes financial and practical sense. The main things I’d appreciate advice on are: What exact miner would you consider with near-zero electricity costs, and what would you regard as a sensible purchase price? Would older, cheaper equipment offer better value than newer hardware in this situation? What are you actually earning with that machine, on which coin and pool?
