Can I do a buy and hold in cryptocurrency (like bitcoin or stablecoins) as a form of investment? I don't want to trade. My goal is to divide my savings/investments into different forms. I currently have money in the bank and a few thousands invested in EFTs/Money market. With the USD/US market's impending crash (or so they say), I was thinking of using cryto to keep some of my money in. I was leaning towards buying stablecoins from countries not heavily dependent on the US economy. Or maybe buy gold-backed cryptos. The plan is to keep buying a little bit at a time and hold, keep it in a hardware wallet, maybe see some capital appreciation . I expect loses, but maybe not heavily. Any thoughts if this is doable? And if yes, which crypto exchange can I safely do this with?
