could you actually run a memecoin that funds a local animal shelter? worked through it and it's less stupid than i assumed working through a scenario here, not reporting something i watched. no token, nothing to buy. a local shelter with a facebook page and a permanent funding gap. someone launches a dog coin for it. my first reaction was that this is the most doomed idea in crypto, a rug with a sad photo attached. then i tried to work out why exactly it fails. the money never arrives. true of nearly every charity token, but the promise was never binding. fixable if the split is set when the token is created and can't be edited after. the shelter can't physically receive it. 3 volunteers cannot take custody of SOL or explain it to a board. this kills more of these than rugs do. fixable by routing through an intermediary that converts and does the paperwork.
