While Kraken is in the news closing million-dollar institutional deals, regular users are getting their funds completely locked by broken backend code. Here is the exact nightmare loop I’ve been trapped in for the last month: 1. The "Trap" Begins: Kraken sent me an official email explicitly telling me to withdraw my USD balance so it wouldn't be put on a "complaiance review." They were actively trying to offboard my account. I did exactly what they asked. I initiated a USD withdrawal to the the money originally came from. It is securely linked via Plaid. The legal names match flawlessly down to the middle initial. There is zero chance of a user typo or fraud flag. • I hit withdraw. Kraken puts the funds on a 10-day pending hold. On day 10, the transfer silently cancels itself. No error code, no explanation. Just a fresh automated email telling me to • I think it's a temporary glitch and try again. Another 10-day hold. Another silent cancellation. If you manage to submit an internal complaint ticket, the automated system closes it within .
