Joined Kraken and my account was restricted almost immediately I only just joined Kraken and my account has already been restricted. I completed the signup process and everything seemed fine, but as soon as I tried to move USDC out of the account, the restriction kicked in. There was no warning beforehand that withdrawing crypto could trigger a restriction, and I wasn’t given a clear explanation of what exactly caused it. I understand exchanges have security and compliance checks, especially on new accounts, but it’s pretty concerning to deposit/buy crypto and then suddenly lose normal access when you try to move it. Support has so far just told me the account is under review without giving me a proper timeframe or clear reason. For a brand-new customer, this is a terrible first experience. I wouldn’t have funded the account if I knew I could immediately end up restricted just for trying to withdraw my USDC. Has anyone else had this happen with a new Kraken account? How long did the review take?
