Is it safe to timelock bitcoin for 10 years? Has anybody done something similar? I'm the type of person who has made so many stupid decisions with money. I've lost a lot over the years on gambling, girls, and random purchases I definitely didn't need. I've finally managed to accumulate 1 BTC, which is a massive milestone for me. However I'm worried that 3–5 years from now I'll get bored of bitcoin, see something else I want to spend the money on, start gambling again, or convince myself to sell it for some stupid reason. Because of that, I've been seriously considering timelocking my BTC for 10 years. Basically making it impossible for future me to touch it regardless of what happens.
