What do you check before opening a crypto trade? I used to think risk management mostly came down to setting a stop loss. Lately, I’ve been paying more attention to what happens before the order is placed: position size, leverage, margin mode, and how much exposure I already have in the same direction. A few small positions can look manageable on their own, yet together they can behave like one large trade when the market moves. It’s also easy to keep taking new setups after a losing streak without noticing how much total risk has accumulated over the day. Now I’m considering using a short checklist before every order: define the amount I’m willing to lose, check existing exposure, confirm the margin setting, place the stop, and set a daily loss limit. The goal is to decide when the trade starts, when it’s easier to follow the plan.
