Is Cryptocom quietly falling apart right now? I've been half-following the Cryptocom news over the last week or two and the sheer amount of bad news hitting them all at once is actually wild. Starting with the biggest red flag for me, that whole multi-billion-dollar CRO treasury deal (they literally tried to name the ticker "MCGA" lol) completely collapsed over the weekend. Marszalek spent months hyping it up, talking about how it would be the largest CRO holder on the planet and hold forever. Then they just scrapped the whole plan, along with the ETF deal tied to it. CRO instantly tanked below $0.05, which is the lowest it's been since late 2023. It really just proves that these treasury hype plays don't mean anything when there's zero organic demand behind the token. On top of that, they're lowering the card cashback and staking yields again starting in September and October. Rate cuts happen, but pulling the rug on rewards while people's tokens are actively locked in multi-month commitments is just scummy. Honestly, stuff like this is why I moved my yield generation over to Nexo, at least you aren't forced into long-term lockups just to get a decent rate. As if that wasn't enough, their Chief Legal Officer, CMO, and the head of prediction markets all resigned in a super short window. Add in their earlier layoffs, ongoing regulatory fights, and that random 3-hour deposit and withdrawal outage on August 2, and it starts painting a pretty ugly picture... maybe I'm reading too much into it, but It feels like internal strain. Is anyone still in a CRO lockup, moving else or are you staying with them despite the lower rates?

Is the token angle in prediction markets real? honest question for people who actually trade prediction markets and not just tourists. the thing that bothers me about Polymarket is the silence. there was a podcast appearance last autumn where their marketing guy said yes, token, yes, ardrop. then a trademark application for $POLY landed in the winter and that's the whole story. two data points in like ten months. nobody knows what counts for eligibility, so half the userbase is just generating volume and praying. i'm one of them tbh, running low three figures through sports lines and political stuff mostly to stay on whatever list may or may not exist. some weeks it feels smart, most weeks it feels like paying rent to a landlord who hasn't confirmed you live there.
