I wasn't around back in 2017, and I had people telling me very different stories about what actually happened with the UASF in the leadup to 110. At the end of the day, I think @Excellion has been proven right here, and the lessons of 2017 will need to be reconsidered.

You can open a network in a day and then spend years finding out it wasn't ready, which is roughly the case for why $PI spent so long preparing before it opened up. I've watched enough fast launches age badly to buy that. iamwonn makes the argument on Pioneer Blogs:
