Our stash of crypto will be stored in paper or tech devices and left to our heirs to both locate and gain access to the coins. Those heirs are unlikely to have the same or similar familiarity with this world. Custodial services by major brokers and Coinbase etc as well as ETFs provide great peace of mind that your legacy will reach the intended beneficiaries and with an instant step up in cost basis to boot! For some this convenience far outweighs the idea of having assets outside the reach or even awareness of government.
