The x402 threat I posted about this yesterday, but we should be aware what is happening with x402 right now. For those unfamiliar with what it is: it's a http-based protocol intended to facilitate fully automated AI micropayments. This would allow offering miniscule micropayments whenever accesding a service, as cheap as $0.001 - or so, the commercial goes. But: what they're working on at best can be called an Enshittification attempt - at worst, the active destruction of the Internet and freedom of information. If x402 would ever become a standard, then your browser would have a cryptowallet which automatically makes small transfers when you access certain sites - without your active consent, even without your knowledge.
