Is DeFi dead? I pulled 40.6M on-chain events across 11 chains to count Pendle's real users. DeBank says 200k+. The answer is 14,646. DeFi mindshare is on the floor and everyone keeps asking whether it's actually dead without really wanting the answer. So I stopped guessing and went to count. I picked Pendle, because if there is a living user base anywhere in deep DeFi it should be there. I scanned every Pendle market ever deployed, 753 of them across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, BSC and 7 more chains, from the first block in November 2022.
