The most Orwellian movement in Bitcoin history. [Spoken audio]: Until yesterday, I thought the most Orwellian thing I had ever seen in the 17-year existence of Bitcoin was David Bailey inviting the director of the FBI to headline the Bitcoin conference in Las Vegas. But wow, a nine-institution fiat monolith has offered a $15 million bounty on the future of the Bitcoin protocol. Do you think that a young, naive, misguided, economically illiterate developer with good intentions who couldn't begin to tell you the difference between Keynesian and Austrian economics, who doesn't understand the first thing about money, is vulnerable to technocratic capture by such an institution? You know, the Bitcoin security consortium, in effect, is just a rebranding of Bitcoin core. Much more benevolent status rebranding of Bitcoin Core. An organization that's funding apparatus has already moved over a hundred million dollars to the individuals I just described is now offering a fifteen million dollar bounty on the future of the protocol. How does that sound to you? You know, you and I can sit here and release videos like this. We We can shitpost and meme all day long. That's fine. But your only say technically in this issue is your node and you should understand that. Between now and August 8th, the only real say you have is not on social media. It's with your Bitcoin node. I highly recommend that you run one. Hopefully you'll run the latest version of Notts that patches the inscriptions exploit and restores reasonable filters that existed in Bitcoin Core to lay a removed against four-to-one consensus that are 99.9% effective against large, op-return, non-monetary, arbitrary data. What is your incentive as a Bitcoin node operator to relay spam for scammers who are attacking Bitcoin? You have none. So, I highly encourage you between now and August 8th to run a node. I'm going to post below a 13-minute video by Matt Hill of Start Nine Labs. This video was mysteriously taken down from Bitcoin Magazine's YouTube channel. I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with censorship or that it's a very powerful message that you need to hear that lays out the true power structure of Bitcoin and how the network really operates. Because if you understand this message, you understand that the only thing standing between you and that Orwellian monolith of the big Bitcoin security consortium is your node.
