In this video, I'll show you how you can create your backup keycard so that you never lose your crypto through fire, theft or your own forgetfulness. After all, we're all humans. Something I want to highlight about keycard is that your crypto keys are not this card. This card is just a wallet. The real treasure is your seed phrase, the 12 words, that's your actual wallet. And this might make you wonder what if I lose my seed race, will I lose my funds? Well, no. Because you can create a backup keycard and in this video I'll show you how. To begin with, set up your shell and slide in the first keycard. Chip facing up. The shell wakes up on its own. Now the first job is to create a unique fin for this keycard. For this demo, I'm taking my pin as 181010. Make sure to save it somewhere safe. the pen to verify. Press the OK button and then you will be asked to set up your jurors pen. It is a secret safety feature used when you're being forced by someone else to unlock your key card. Hold the orange button to set your jurors pen. For this demo, I'm skipping it. Now this is important. The shell asks you to either import a recovery phrase or generate a new key pair. For this card one, our main guard, we will generate a new key pair. You can go with just the key pair or key pair with the passphrase. For this, I'm going with 12 words key phrase. Make sure to write it down somewhere safe. Key card will ask you to cross verify your key pair. Voila, your key card is all set now. You can scan any QR or connect to any software ordered and start using it. And finally, now we will start our backup magic. Eject the card one, insert the card two and continue with the same process of setting up your key card by creating a key card pin which will be unique for this particular key card to verify it and set a dearest benefit if you'd like and when prompted to add a key pair instead of creating a new key pair make sure to import a recovery phase. Since we are importing the key card one we will go with the 12 word recovery phrase. Here's the fun part. Now you have to type in all the words from your key phrase using these navigators. Our first word was rocket so I'm gonna type it in and similarly I'll do it for my entire key. That's it! Now you have created a backup keycard by importing the exactly same address. Now both these keycards have the same phrase which means even if you lose one you will have another one and you can create as many backup keycards as you want and keep them in different places. So rename your keycard for better differentiation. The best part is if your keycard ever gets compromised you can simply go and factory reset your keycard. It will erase all your keys from the keycard and you can use it as new. I hope this video was useful and congratulations on creating backups for your keycard.
