Local AI by Tether [Spoken audio]: Hi everybody we are in the QVAC booth in the last question and today I'm going to show you some very cool demo which is about voice cloning using only local models. In fact the first thing I'm going to do is disconnect from Wi-Fi and so to prove that we are completely online if I try to reach our website I get you know a connection issue. So the first thing I'm I'm going to do is confirm that this voice belongs to me because, you know, we want to be safe and I can start the process to clone my voice and I'm going to do so in English for the sake of the video, even though I'm from Italy. Hi, this is my voice. I'm recording a short sample. I like clear mornings, strong coffee, and a good conversation. One, two, three, four, five. Thank you for listening. This is a 15 to 20 second audio sample that we need to be able to clone the voice. Obviously the longer and the clearer the sample, the better the quality of the clone. And now I can translate from English to any language and it will be spoken using my voice. Hey, how are you today? I'm very glad to be at this event. It's very interesting, met a lot of cool people and I'm hoping that this demo works. And so on the transcription side, we are using what is called PARKIT. PARKIT is an engine and the model that allows for pretty much instantaneous transcription multilingual, and it's a pretty small model, so it runs on most consumer devices. At the same time, we're using Bergamot. All of this is available, is exposed through the QHSDK API, obviously, and that's what we're using behind the scenes. And Bergamot is translating from English to Italian in this case. And the last step, as you can see, is the synthesized speech, which is the result of using something called Chatterbox, which again is an engine and a model that allows us to clone the voice and then have very realistic text to speech. So, the translation is not exactly perfect because these are very small models and they're supposed to run on very constrained devices, but it's kind of accurate and as you can see the voice is mine, right, it's almost indistinguishable from the original one and obviously this being multilingual, it means that I can also speak, for example, Spanish and again And this is loading the translation model in cache, in memory, not in cache, so the model is cached and now we're just loading it in memory. And once the translation is done and the synthesis is also done. Oye, como estas hoy, estoy muy contenta de estar en este evento. Es muy interesante, conocía mucha gente genial y mareó que esta vemos funciona. So as you can see, again, the voice even in other languages is pretty realistically similar to mine. And the only reason we have a delay here is because some of these models are currently running on CPU instead of GPU. We are obviously working on improving the performance every day and we actually have an upcoming build that is gonna fix this.
