Two significant token unlocks today ($20M ZRO, $10M KAITO) while NASDAQ is down 1.4%. How do people factor unlock schedules into their DeFi lending risk? Today specifically: ZRO (LayerZero) unlocking 7.28% of circulating supply, approximately $20.41M worth. KAITO unlocking 5.02%, approximately $10.68M. This while NASDAQ is down 1.40% and S&P 500 down 1.01% today. ETH is oddly up 0.5% right now, which makes the setup interesting. Token unlocks are one of the more underappreciated liquidation risk factors in DeFi lending. The mechanism: Large unlock creates immediate sell pressure on the unlocked token. If that token is used as collateral anywhere, collateral value drops. If the sell pressure is large enough relative to liquidity it cascades into correlated assets. ETH and BTC positions can get caught in the crossfire even if neither is the unlocked token.

Analyzing a missed call on bitcoin from a few days ago #bitcoin #crypto #trader #technicalanalysis [Spoken audio]: When you make a mistake as a trader and looking at charts and setting up trades and whatnot, it's very important you analyze that mistake. And I made a mistake on just a handful of days ago and it is a lesson that everybody needs to learn and I've learned it plenty of times before but I got excited, damn it. Now, luckily I didn't make a trade. However, I do post my opinions publicly and then I get roasted when I'm wrong so I was wrong about this. So what happened is Bitcoin here on the daily timeframe, What it started this day is this day Bitcoin was slicing through, you can see. It was slicing through, it was a deep dark red in the beginning half of the day, multiple levels of support, and then I went, and on that app that Elon Musk owns, made a very aggressive fall, it's coming. Look, it's red, it's slicing through here. But there was still, they were still eight hours to go before that candle closed. That was move, aggressive, too aggressive, right? Because there was still plenty of time for this to get bought up, and it did get bought up, and it ended up closing above support with a somewhat bullish candle here, right? So the lesson here is again, don't get too excited until you get a candle close or whatever timeframe you're looking at. I got too excited before the candle close happened and ended up being wrong. If I was looking to set up a short-term trade scenario, a short long here on Bitcoin at 10X, 20X or something could have gained me a quick 20%, or I could have used 50X, maybe on something more, right? There was an opportunity there if I had waited and was patient to see how that daily candle closed before setting a position, right? So I just wanna quickly come on here and talk about that mistake that I made because I've made it before, I'll probably make it again in the future, but it's always good to analyze why you got something wrong and to be a little bit more patient. It does pay to be patient.
