The strongest BTC bull case in a decade just came from the people who hate it most Something happened in China recently that should be setting off alarms in every crypto community, but almost nobody is talking about it.. The largest ETF in China (their equivalent of the S&P 500) is now a gold ETF. Roughly $13 billion in gold versus $12 billion in the flagship stock fund. In the second-biggest economy on the planet, the single biggest pool of retail ETF money now sits in gold. And that's just the retail side. The People's Bank of China just bought gold for the 20th consecutive month, including its largest monthly purchase in nearly three years. World central banks as a group have been absorbing roughly 1,000 tons a year for three years running - about double the pace of the decade before. Poland, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, all stacking. Almost nobody on the sell side. And one detail that deserves more attention than it's getting: four of China's biggest banks are shutting down retail paper gold trading this month. China wants its citizens holding the real thing, not IOUs with leverage stacked on top. Countries don't de-paperize gold ownership unless they expect the price of the real thing to matter a great deal more in the future.
