As someone who met a lot of people who became millionaires from long term investing, and made millions after starting with a $5K portfolio in 2017 I can tell you that the best investors spend 90% of their time doing nothing No buying, no selling, no swapping, just watching and [Spoken audio]: 90% of your time in the market, you're not really doing anything. You're reading, you're watching, you're listening, you're observing, but you're not actioning, you're not buying, you're not selling, you're not swapping, you're not bridging, you're not doing anything. When you're not making buys or sells, it's the equivalent of sitting on the bench in a football game. And I think a lot of people think of the idea of sitting on the bench 90% of a game thinking that's a bad thing. When in reality, this is a good thing. As an investor, you want to be sitting on the bench for most of the game. You want to be the lazy guy who'd sits back. He doesn't do anything. He's just chilling out waiting for the right moment to come on. And the thing is, when you become really good at investing, you will know when the right moment is. The problem with when you're a beginner investor is you don't know when is the time to pay attention. You don't know when it's the time to lock in. You don't know when it's the time to buy or sell. And so you're just in this constant frenzy of, should I buy now? Should I sell? Oh, my God, we dumped. Is it over? But when you're actually experienced with this shit, you will know when it's time to pay attention and when it's time to sit on the the bench. And I think as an investor, this is one of the most important things you'll just have to learn that you're going to be doing nothing most of the time.
Once you see it, you'll never look at the charts the same way again.
