AI is making lawyers look like absolute fools They use ChatGPT to write legal briefs, but the AI just completely fabricates fake court cases out of thin air. Judges are losing their minds. [Spoken audio]: So in the legal industry, you often have to write documents and then you have to include citations of cases that support the things you've written in those documents. So that involves searching through hundreds of thousands, if not millions of cases to find legal decisions that support what you are saying. And AI is really good at writing these documents. What it's really bad at is finding the correct legal citations to use. use. And unfortunately, the worst part about that is what it usually does when it can't find a case easily that supports the position is it makes one up. It just completely fabricates one that does not exist. But if it did exist, would perfectly support the position that you're trying to write in the paper. And that is a very bad thing. Lawyers getting very big trouble for this. They get sanctioned, they get suspended, their law license suspended. They lose their case. Their case gets thrown out. So it's an extremely bad thing that happens if they are caught doing this. Nonetheless, the efficiencies of AI have caused lawyers to somewhat take that risk and use it anyway because it's such an efficiency gainer. So what we have done is we have created a tool built on Invenium Chain that essentially prohibits and prevents hallucinations from making their way into these finalized legal documents. You can check a document for hallucinated cases before submitting it to the court. And then the best part is you can actually verify that you checked for those citations before filing it officially. Now this is a big deal because many judges now have standing orders, which is basically ground rules for all the lawyers before them that say if you use AI for your drafting, you must check the citations before submitting to the court and you must certify that you checked.
