Midnight is like Zcash with smart contracts. A 4th generation permissionless privacy blockchain. $NIGHT [Spoken audio]: We are Zcash with smart contracts. That's a simple TLDR. What does that mean? Well, we think all public blockchains are transparent and they are surveillance mechanisms. You can see in it what everybody's doing, what everybody owns, not only today, but forever. So we don't think that's what it should be. So midnight is what we call a permissionless private network. It's permissionless that anybody come and build on it and what they build is their private solutions using the tools and smart contracts we have. Those smart contracts enable selective disclosure. So it is privacy fully protected metadata and data with selective disclosure. So for those who don't quite understand like smart contracts and the heavy tech side of things there's obviously so many different privacy solutions like Zcash like you just mentioned. How does Midnight stand out from those privacy solutions? Okay so the way to think about it is privacy comes in two forms in the digital world but Let's back it back it out and look at our physical world. So Lydia, you and I have met a number of times and we share various bits of information about each other. Just now off camera, you disclose a very personal bit of information that is very positive about you and your family and that's wonderful. But you choose to disclose certain information based on trust and how you build trust and build rapport. Today, when I go meet people through this business or my personal life, I share some information with them, but not everything. I might tell them, you know, broadly my age, my relationship status, the children I have, which part of the UK I'm from, but I don't give them my postcode. I don't give them my bank account. I don't give them my sort code and my account number. That is selective disclosure. That is rational privacy. I'm rational about what elements of my private or public life I share. So in your digital world, you do the same thing. When you go and sign into websites, you think about what cookies you accept, analytical versus other marketing cookies and various things like that. When you log into Wi-Fi at stadiums or concerts, you decide I don't want to share my email because I'm gonna get bombarded so I'd rather not have Wi-Fi. That is all a choice about privacy. So in the crypto world, most blockchains like Bitcoin, Solana, Cardano and many others are public blockchains which are fully transparent. They give an element of truth based on sharing information so everybody can see it. The problem with that is I get to see your bank account. I get to see how much you're holding it and I get to see all your transactions. And we don't think that's the way technology or companies should work or individuals. So there are private chains out there, permissionless ones like Zcash, where everything is fully protected, fully shielded. But the problem with that is large corporations, regulators get concerned about what is happening. They can't see what's happening. So they instantly wanna shut it down in terms of access to central exchanges and other things. You have your private permission networks like the ones JP Morgan are creating or Citibank. The problem is those are only, they're gated and JP Morgan gets to see everything you do because it's all of their clients. Nobody else can get to use it. We think there's an in between. We think that in between is midnight because midnight enables full metadata and data protection because all the data sits on your device, on your side of the firewall. Nobody gets to see it. So when you present it, you present it as a proof. And when that proof exists on our network, you can then decide to share that selectively. you can make it a public disclosure. So the public disclosure closure may be if you're issuing a stablecoin, the total TVL of the stablecoin issuance on midnight. The private disclosure may be who holds it and whether you're willing to share that information.
