Bitcoin's price got nudged on purpose, just to rig a bet. Stanford says 821 traders pocketed $8.2M gaming Polymarket's 5-minute Bitcoin contracts, while retail ate 93% of the losses.
Some things become iconic over time. Remember the pink collar.
Nico explains why you should always question people's intentions in crypto "There's a lot of comparisons to back in the day when we were playing games online, RuneScape, things like that." "In RuneScape, there is the concept of the Wilderness, the Wild West, people killing you, [Spoken audio]: What are the key identifiers of somebody that fits the description that you just outlined? Somebody that's maybe malicious or potentially for a new person, for a new entry into the space, they're scrolling the timeline. How can they tell if somebody on the timeline is nefarious versus somebody is has good, is good intention and is leading them to the water versus leading them to the slaughter? Yeah. No, this is a real thing. I feel like it's not spoken about enough. There's a lot of comparisons to back in the day, like when we were like playing games online, RuneScape, things like that. It was this like, in RuneScape, there is like concept of like the wilderness, the Wild West, people like killing you and looting you for your items. And you were trying to scam you and all of this stuff. And Crypto is like, honestly, is very similar in many ways, at least in terms of it can happen. And there's mostly good actors, but there are some bad ones out there. And I think this again comes back to like the pattern recognition where it's like, you start to, if you have enough people and you have a certain reputation. then when an actor, certain actor comes along, you can actually luckily rely on other people in your network and see, have they worked with this person? What do they know about this person? And like, oftentimes, sometimes someone will come back and be like, well, I heard this guy rug this guy on that thing, or he lied about this thing, or he dumped this thing when he shouldn't have. Like it's just like small little pieces of information that you pick up over time. It's just gotta like, you just gotta do your due diligence, your background checks on people whenever you can, if it's something you're planning on putting a lot of money in. And I think the biggest thing is, just don't take what people say completely at face value. And whenever someone tries to get you to do something, really try think, why are they trying to get me to do this? Like what's there, what's there and sent it here? Like for example, I had a project hit me up recently and they were considering launching a token and they were asking me what I thought about it. And I told them personally, I didn't think it was a good idea for them for their use case to launch token right now. But they told me that another person who I know is a slightly sketchy reputation like pushed and encouraged them to do a token and that was probably because he also wanted to get some sort of advisor allocation or something like that and it's like he's very much pushing what he thinks is good for his incentives but not actually for the project itself whereas like I would speak to them be honest with them there's no incentive for me to like at least I wouldn't want to like have an incentive for myself to like give them bad advice so I think I think that's like them one of the most important things as well.

It doesnβt matter how many people memes βonboardβ if the people they attract are literally perpetual gamblers that quickly blow all their capital gambling in what is essentially a rigged casino. Those people are forcefully off-ramped due to blowing all their capital almost as
