Your payments are private here (using Canton side), Full privacy is getting on the app soon @HandlPay [Spoken audio]: going on particularly where you want to go? I want to privacy a little bit here because I know that's like one of the topics here with handle pay too, but I think that as the market has been going down I've been kind of just going more into the golden age and being able to think about crypto from like one of our first principles perspective without being kind of like the nuance of the day to day. I actually think the war on privacy and crypto is something that's being lost right now. Also, I actually go back, I think you were on the same space with me maybe three months ago as an individual who has about 1.2 million dollars on X and he's one of the largest voices on X that was buying Bitcoin this past cycle. And I was amazed that they had no idea that Bitcoin was not private. Like I think there's a lot of people who are getting into Bitcoin, got out of Bitcoin, that this cycle who actually believes that Bitcoin is private. And I remember them being very, very surprised that hey, if you've ever received payment for an invoice, whoever you gave your address to, it's not just a Bitcoin thing, but they know exactly where all your money is and how much money you have on chain, which I think becomes like a prevalent issue that bleeds across crypto, like into prediction markets and then all sorts of markets across crypto. And I think that privacy kind of had its moment maybe four or five months ago when Seacash was exploding because price go up is like the best marketing in crypto. And I think it's, this is a narrative that we're kind of losing and industry in terms of why privacy would be important. And I think oftentimes people they mix up privacy and transparency, but you can still have transparency as an industry to make sure that that one equals one in all areas of blockchain without without without with actually having to use your privacy at the same time. I think that's very lost on people. Well, I remember in 2021, they brought me into this industry.

RESEARCH: Most RWA discussions focus on issuance. But for private credit, the harder question is enforcement. Can investors recover funds if the borrower defaults? If the answer depends only on a token, the structure is incomplete. Credit still lives in legal systems.

The image is a flowchart titled "How a loan works on 8lends" that outlines a 7-step loan process—from the borrower's SME application and Maclear AG underwriting, through on-chain smart contract execution and USDC investor funding, to monthly repayments via smart contracts and, importantly, a default recovery path (7c) involving a 100% principal BuyBack via collateral liquidation. It visually reinforces the post's point about private credit enforcement: even on platforms like 8lends using tokenized USDC, recovery ultimately depends on off-chain collateral buyback rather than the token itself, showing that credit still relies on legal systems.

Whatever Happened to “Bitcoin, Not Bombs” With the United States now at war with Iran, I keep thinking about an older argument from the Bitcoin movement. Wasn’t Bitcoin supposed to be part of the anti-war movement? Early Bitcoin culture was not only about getting rich, ETFs, corporate treasuries, or governments building strategic reserves. Bitcoin was presented as a way to challenge the monetary system that makes endless war possible. The basic argument was simple: Governments can wage wars that voters would never support if they had to pay the full cost immediately through higher taxes. Instead, wars are financed through debt, monetary expansion, and inflation. The costs are spread across decades and hidden inside higher prices, interest payments, and a weaker currency.
