@The_DTCC

One of the world's most traded ETFs, @InvescoUS , has now been tokenized by @jpmorgan as part of today’s activity. Hear from @Nasdaq and DTCC leaders on what this milestone could mean for the future of digital markets. Stay tuned for additional milestones and insights on [Spoken audio]: In our first update of the day, JPMorgan successfully tokenized the Invesco NASDAQ 100 ETF, which trades under the ticker QQQ. QQQ is one of the most highly liquid and traded ETFs in the world. Now, to discuss the significance of tokenizing QQQ and what it represents for the future of market infrastructure, let's hear from Chuck Mack, Senior Vice President of North American Markets at NASDAQ. We played an integral role in this tokenization event by demonstrating how this technology can work within existing market rules while maintaining liquidity, transparency, and investor protection. NASAC served as the marketplace where trades were executed for later conversion into tokens at the DTCC. The QQQ tracks the NASAC 100, our flagship index that includes 100 of the largest non-financial companies listed on NASAC. The index is designed to serve as a large cap equity benchmark that provides global investors with access to the companies driving the future of innovation. The effort demonstrated that meaningful innovation in capital markets is possible, especially when key industry participants are all pushing in the same direction. Thanks Chuck. And now joining me to provide additional context is Tom Sullivan, head of digital asset solutions at DTCC. Tom, can you explain what a token conversion is and how it works? Sure, a token conversion is simply taking an asset which sits in traditional form on DTCC's books and records and moving it to a tokenized form on a blockchain and really making it available to be a digital representation of the same asset, the same entitlement rights for the users. So let's talk about the benefits of that. What can a digital twin of QQQ do that the traditional asset cannot? Sure. An asset on a blockchain can be moved 24-7, 365, so it enables the market to move assets at the speed of the internet. It also, through smart contracts, enables programmability so assets can be programmed to be moved in a more automated and systemic way. Okay. And one last question, Tom. So, what do you hope the market participants take away from today's events and about the future of tokenized markets? Sure. The scope and scale of what we're doing today is just the beginning. We're demonstrating a range of use cases with a large number of participants and it's really a demonstration of what we hope will be the successful start later this year. Okay thanks so much Tom and that's only the beginning we'll have more developments insights and conversations from today's activity throughout the day so stay tuned.
