Why I like to use volume profiles when drawing ranges And why AMT is goated in rangebound environments Very relevant for the $BTC PA we've had recently Enjoy [Spoken audio]: One of the key considerations when you're drawing ranges is where your anchor points right because it's so discretionary That's one of the main benefits of using volume profile analysis auction market theory analysis to draw ranges I find that from my style of trading at least auction market theory is a fantastic utility It has a really solid use case when prices in a range bound environment because it gives you Effectively the core elements of what you need when you're trading a range you have a value area Which is basically your range is that what you have like a poc Which is effectively your mid-range then you have a very high very low which are like the range extremities Which are typically where you want to be trading at when prices in a range you want to avoid trading in the middle Don't do it in the middle you want to get involved at the extremes instead and either play for continuation aka breakout or Reversion aka fake out and that's one of the nice things about volume profile is volume profiles remove Not all of the discretion, but they remove a lot of the discretion from the process of drawing your range See when you have price action like this So you have a downtrend like this and then you know something like this and something like this It can be hard to know where should my range low be should it be here? Okay, where should my range high be should it be here? Okay, maybe it should be here because we actually have more touches here Like maybe it should be something more like here. It really depends kind of on your style And what you like to do there are guys I know that they actually prefer looking at where has price had the most touches So for them their range low might actually be something like here and the range high might be here something like that So there's a lot of discretion is the point of making the beautiful thing about volume profiles Is that there is still an element of discretion because you have to pick your anchor points But once you pick those anchor points the volume profile tool just pulls the volume data and it draws your range for you Right
