@Liquid_BTC

Users wanted privacy. Banks wanted confidentiality. Technologists thought it was cool. @adam3us explains how Confidential transactions on Liquid satisfied all three. [Spoken audio]: When we released confidential transactions we were interested to see what the market reaction would be and actually all three constituents liked it a lot. So by that I mean the users liked it because get some privacy from it. The technologists liked it. There's cool kind of counterintuitive innovative use of cryptography and it turned out that the banks and institutions that were already interested in blockchain liked it because you get the confidentiality now turns out that other than public markets which are required to disclose information. People don't actually want to get front run, they don't want to get the MEV effect and liquid provides a solution for that. When you put AMP into that, it's quite interesting that it works out that you can have the confidential transactions and yet the share registration agent has visibility, sufficient to cosine the transaction and to update the share registry, whereas the public can't see this was a hotel bond bought with the UST bill and liquid token, they can't see that from outside and yet the share registration agent has all the information they need for audit and tax preparation and things like that.
