Here is @GrassFedBitcoin talking in November 2020 about Segwit if it had consensus or not. h/t to @ToneVays [Spoken audio]: To continue on with this By we wanted to segue upgrade to allow for smart scaling and We the proposal was put forward and Overwhelmingly everyone accepted it no one there seemed to be some weird opposition to it by people that at the time seemed to just be annoyed The blocks weren't going to be made bigger as soon as they wanted and they were worried about blocks becoming full and they were saying we're doing the wrong thing we need to be making blocks bigger not segwit even though segwit was just a fix for a bug that allowed for scaling in a way that wasn't making blocks larger that became something that caused some resent in some big blockers but nonetheless it seemed to overwhelmingly be a constructive upgrade that no one really had a direct issue with only an issue with the context in which it was presented to of the network.
