GM Masumi Hydra Demo just dropped [Spoken audio]: Hello. Today I want to give you a small sneak peek into our newest roadmap feature, which is Hydra. So what Hydra enables us to do is, first of all, have, in theory, thousands of transactions simultaneously without contrasting the main drain. So we improve throughput massively. We also lower the fees basically to zero. So we have a process of basically interacting with every agent and with every interaction instantaneously as well because confirmation is basically real time. So that gives a huge benefit to our use case. And the other big thing is we now optionally also support kind of a privacy-focused transactions because how it works is that you still have your agents basically registered but the transaction happened in private between you and whoever you're going to pay. So if you choose not to reveal it and, for example, therefore not increase your reputation and all what comes with it, but you prefer to benefit, for example, because you're a big company or agency or something and you don't want to expose that kind of data, then that is now hidden from the public, which is also a nice option to have. Obviously, we still want to be the default case for everyone to publish what they've done and see how long confirmations took, how long the result generation took, and so on. And basically filter on that and build your reputation. But Hydra at least gives you that option. And as I said, as well, it is very fast. Obviously, they are almost zero fees just for opening your head and finding out your funds eventually. So just to give you sneak peek. Here I have registered two agents, basically one, let's say native Karano agent, basically 5 ADA per run and the same for Hydra agent. And if we have a look, they are registered in different wallets. Effectively, this wallet is set up not to use Hydra and this one is set up for Hydra. So what I want to do now is give you a comparison. If we take a look into the transactions. We see they are not yet so we can create some test transactions and we're actually going to do a full payment simulation or cycle and with simulation I just mean we don't really put in real input data and we don't compute the result but that would also be able to happen. So what we do now is let's start with the Lele AR1 and we can do a full cycle basically so let's start it see it okay now it should be created let's go into transactions and yes we see it is here but also what we can still see it is not yet locked because it's still being picked up and then going to be sent on the Cardano transfer or the Cardano pre-pro network here to to the chain and that's what's gonna happen. While this is running I will also give you an overview what how it basically works and that is we have this new tab here HydraHeads and it's also exposed via API of course where you can add your HydraHeads and the configuration basically. In this case I run both nodes locally here so both the seller and the buyer node but this will happen dynamically as well in the background then in the future you will have a docker node which then you can create many heads and the transactions basically dynamically so you don't have to do any configuration here yep so that is basically what's gonna happen and let's see what our transactions are doing so so far they are not really picked up yet also they might be batched so it might wait a little bit for them to be picked up but okay actually is it yeah there is a transaction hash yeah so we can effectively take a look on Cardano scan if they let me in and see what's gonna happen we see it still has no confirmations. So let's do the same on Hydra and see what is actually quicker. And we do just a new full payment cycle. And if we go to the transaction now, we see the old one, it's still pending, so it is not confirmed that the purchase has been sent, but the seller has not really confirmed it yet. So let's refresh it. we see our old transaction and right now it might take a second until it's picked up because even here we are using a batching so the old transaction now is confirmed but it took I would say like one one and a half two minutes something like that and we see obviously the hydro transactions once a refresh is also confirmed so that is also in there basically in time while I was explaining it. Yeah, that was what was happening in the background. The routing happens automatically. So the nice part is if, for example, this hydrohead here becomes unavailable for some reason, right? It's not reachable anymore or something like that. It will automatically fall back to layer one. And also the API and everything doesn't really change. You just do your purchase and payments as normal and if a hydra hat is configured and is valid it will automatically reroute it through hydra basically if available if not or if there for example not enough funds in there or for any other reason then it will fall back to layer one and basically use that. So I think that that is pretty pretty neat because your users don't really need to to think about the configuration that much because it will just happen in background automatically. I just now wanna go into a bit more technical details and how it works in the background. We're still working on it, so some stuff might change, but in a general overview, if I have a look here, basically we have the admin or the API in general with the buyer and the seller flows those are routed basically through our endpoints right through the payment node and If any operations, let's say cell or By comes in basically as I said in the background it checks. Okay, is there hydro provided and it will lock it on hydro and If it is not available then it will route it through layer one, right? Also, what is quite nice is that we have the Hydra node running in the background and we don't need a full Kanano node to run it. We have done it through Clockfrost so it is easier in the setup. What we're currently working on is obviously the node needs to be a bit more, let's say, configurable or like running like easy to juggle rise and like set up in a way where or how we need it so we can set up new heads easily dynamically that's what we're working on and it is all locked down so basically for production environment right so that will be available sooner than you just run that and connect it to the API or to the to your note we will also introduce that into to Masumi SAS, which is launching soon. So there it will be handled automatically. And we will do the setup for you too. And the interactions then happen depending on how much volume there is and whatnot so that you don't have to do anything here. So I won't go through the transaction path, as I kind of explained it already. But what is more important is the hydro lifecycle, right? So basically we connect or the payment node tries to connect it. And if it gets disconnected, it tries to reconnect, obviously. And then we have our idle state and initializing state, depending on if we set it up effectively. And then when it is initialized and it is open, we can see here, for example, our hydro node is currently in the open status, right? So it is on-chain, it is confirmed. Then we can handle our escrow transactions so we can log, submit, refund, and collect between the buyer and seller, which is set up. And we can also do, obviously, incremental commits and decomits to withdraw funds. And if for some reason we want to close the channel at some point, then we can close it off, obviously. And after the contestation period, the fan out is similar, so basically how it can happen. And this kind of automatically handled in the background as well. What is nice, Hydra now has a new feature which gives us incremental fan outs basically. So that is kind of important for us because what could happen is that you have, I don't know, a million transactions open here, right? And once they settled, it's no problem, but the in between states could otherwise be a bit of a problem because those counters UTXOs and then withdrawal would be problematic. So with this new update, the find out is still possible and it just obviously takes some time, but at least your funds are secure. So that is effectively how it is working. It is still a bit of work in progress. As I said, we're working on the Docker node and some other implementations. You can have a bit more of a look into the flows and into the architecture if you're interested. But that is just like a general high level overview of what is happening.
