The biggest difference between these two is that Claude Code was born with no memory and Hermes Agent was born with short-term memory. But when you plug Obsidian into this equation, sure, you give Claude improved memory, but you give Hermes Agent both short-term and long-term memory. Normally Claude doesn't create an index of the memories that it's saving to Obsidian, but the Hermes Agent comes preloaded with an Obsidian skill, so it creates an index by design. And because you have all these methods to communicate with your Hermes agent, it's basically like a baby that's exploring the world for the first time. It's creating a persistent artifact that I can use to improve those skills in the future, basically supercharging all of its skills. There are three different ways that you can integrate Hermes with Obsidian. But one is obviously gonna be through its native Obsidian skill. The next is gonna be through a bi-directional sync plugin, and a third is using something like Telegram or Discord to have it right directly into focus channels, which is a big benefit because you use Telegram or Discord to communicate with the Hermes agent anyway.
