Winding down an epic day in Brisvegas with some thoughts around bitcoin in an SMSF… [Spoken audio]: Oh boy, it's a beautiful afternoon in Briss Vegas. The best winters you'll ever have, literally loving it out for a little cruise with my right hand man. There he is. And I wanted to share a handful of thoughts around SMSFs. I am so shocked that you can buy Bitcoin in self-custody in an SMSF. If I was the ATO, if I was the government, I would pronto close that loop. I'd be like, oh yeah, sure, buy Bitcoin, but not real Bitcoin. You can have paper Bitcoin, get an ETF, that's cool. But you sure as hell are not going to be looking after your own Bitcoin in an SMSF. But anyway, it's a great opportunity. And it's one that the crypto bros have identified because they are trillions of Aussie dollars locked up in this compulsory retirement scheme. And so I thought I'd share a couple of thoughts around it. Number one, yeah, we've been talking about this for years. So thanks, crypto bros. Well done. Welcome to the party. Late as always, misguided as always, but I think better late than never. Number two, yes, if you've got an existing super, like Australian super investing in India, tell them to go fuck themselves and take your money and get an SMSF. The single best decision you'll make, especially if you're like 40, you've got another 20 years. What do you think Bitcoin's gonna do in 20 years? And by the way, you can self-custody this shit, So do it. Number three, what I tell people also is, when the crypto bros are talking about this amazing credibly tax efficient structure, as if it hasn't been around for ages, what they don't tell you is that the rules will change. The SMSF rules will change. They will change the preservation age. they will change the amount of capital you can take out, whether you can do it as an annuity, whether you can just take it as a lump sum, they're gonna change the tax rate. They'll probably, they really are changing rules around that. So I say to people, do not put $1 more than you have to. What's the gold standard? You want P2P Bitcoin, dude. You want P2P Bitcoin. That's the gold standard. but I don't want to lock up capital, discretionary capital in a long-term savings vehicle like an SMSF where the rules will fundamentally change and they will change. So those are my thoughts. Get an SMSF, buy a Bitcoin in self custody and don't do anything silly. And if you've got a lump sum right now, smash buy But don't put a fucking scent in more than you need to because they will change the rules. That's what those kids do. And by kids, I mean Elba.
